Litigation Support Analyst

Litigation Support Analyst reports to Senior Manager, Information Governance and Litigation Support and is responsible for following litigation support processes for service delivery to the Firm's clients, attorneys, paralegals, and staff in cooperation with key members of the Litigation Division. This position’s mission is to achieve and maintain the litigation support department’s reputation for excellence in providing the highest quality and most effective litigation support services for the benefit of the Firm’s clients and for the Firm attorneys representing them. The Litigation Support Analyst should anticipate mentoring and workflow instructions from more senior members of the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executes eDiscovery / Litigation Support best practices for each and every step of the discovery process, including all phases of the eDiscovery process as set forth in the industry standard EDRM:
    • Processing
    • Review
    • Production
    • Transcript / Exhibit Management
  • Works with the legal team to document processes and workflows.
    • Implement and maintains collection matrix
    • Performs the processing of data. Identifies, evaluates, and analyzes exceptions and other related issues.
    • Support document review efforts with review batching and persistent highlighting
    • Provide reports to the case team
    • Format and generate productions to ensure compliance with ESI protocol requirements and/or industry best practices. Provide and manage the production links provided to the case team
    • Format and delivery of draft privilege log(s) to the case team
  • Provides day-to-day support of all document collections housed in review platforms.
  • Provides day-to-day support for all firm-wide translation orders.
  • Works with document review platforms such as Casepoint, Relativity, and such other platforms as required by a given matter.
  • Retrieves and organizes documents and assists with deposition preparation, as required.
  • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to the standardized processes and procedures that improve work quality in the department.
  • Works effectively with the litigation support team and coordinates assignments.
  • Follows up on delegated tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain professional demeanor with co-workers in stressful situations.
  • Ensures all projects are completed accurately and on time and that expected results are achieved.
  • Regularly updates the senior manager, other litigation support analyst and/or case team on project progress.
  • Makes a good first impression and quickly and easily establishes positive working relationships.
  • Prepares effective, well-organized, well-written communications.
  • Expresses thoughts and ideas clearly and succinctly when speaking.
  • Consistently keeps appropriate people informed about issues, demonstrating dependability, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Achieves target annual billable hours.
  • Provides occasional weekend and/or after-hours support.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience as a litigation support analyst or paralegal utilizing and analyzing E-Discovery platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal procedures, terms, and processes.
  • Understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model.
  • Understanding of Legal Processes: A foundational understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation processes.
  • Strong experience using and administering litigation support programs, such as Relativity, RelativityOne, Casepoint, Everlaw, OPUS2, or other similar tools.
  • Data Analysis: Basic data analysis skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of database programs, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Nuance and other programs as they relate to converting information between platforms.
  • Ability to translate the case team needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to operate various utility programs, such as bulk rename utility, wordpad, textpad, and technical features within litigation support programs.
  • Ability to quality check, create, edit and troubleshoot load files, e.g. DAT / OPT files as necessary to load data into discovery management programs.
  • Conversant with and understands the formats of load files and able to translate and convert delimited data between formats.
