Law Firm AI Solutions Manager

The AI Solutions Manager will work alongside the Chief Practice Innovation Officer and Director of Legal Service Delivery to support the development, implementation, and management of AI-driven solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of legal service delivery. This role involves collaboration with legal teams, operations departments, IT professionals, and external vendors to integrate AI technologies that support various firm legal service delivery processes, including document review, legal research, case management, and client interactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support AI-related projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with stated strategic objectives. Manage project timelines related to AI-driven projects.
  • Develop training to instruct users in the best practices for leveraging AI technologies effectively, including the art of prompt engineering and enhancing user interaction with AI to ensure accurate and reliable outputs.
  • Generate educational content, programs, and campaigns to teach users how to use AI tools effectively and minimize erroneous output.
  • Work alongside attorneys to identify opportunities for AI to be used to improve legal service delivery.  
  • Collaborate with Chief Practice Innovation Officer, Chief Information Technology Officer, and Director of Legal Service Delivery in evaluation of AI tools.
  • Design AI tool evaluation framework and standard processes surrounding evaluation and onboarding of AI tools.
  • Actively serve as a member of AI-related service delivery groups throughout the firm.
  • Liaise between users and developers to refine our AI tools through building compelling use cases and facilitating user training.
  • Define metrics to assess the performance and impact of AI solutions. Continuously monitor and optimize AI applications for better results.
  • Keep updated on the latest AI trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Draft case studies highlighting AI success and presentations for attorneys and firm leadership regarding the use of AI.
  • Function as a member of the AI on Demand team providing service to the legal departments by applying AI tools to projects that are run through the group producing initial drafts and/or desired output.
  • Liaise with operations departments in guiding their efforts (e.g., informing the most effective ways to use existing firm resources, brainstorming ideas in which AI would be viable options to enhance existing processes/work product). 

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • AI/ML certifications and/or completed coursework are a plus.
  • Experience in legal practice technology implementation and use within a large law firm in or in-house preferred.
Experience using AI tools for professional work product and knowledge of AI applications. Familiarity with GAI tools such as Harvey, Kira, CoCounsel, Copilot and VLex preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.
  • High level interpersonal skills to facilitate communication in person, by email, and telephone with professionalism, courtesy and diplomacy. Very strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with attorneys, clients, and staff.
  • High level organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting, decision-making, and follow-through skills.
