Description and Duties:
The candidate will assist the co-managing partners with implementing firm wide protocols and HR/general office related issues, and provide legal secretarial assistance to two attorneys. Will be a Liaison between the San Francisco office and the firm’s New York based Human Resources Department regarding administrative staff HR related issues, including new hire orientation to both attorneys and administrative staff. Liaison between the San Francisco office and the firm’s New York based IT Department regarding IT related issues. Point of contact with Property Management Office. Participate in hiring, terminating, training, mentoring and supervising administrative staff. Assign and monitor overflow assignments to administrative staff, including coordinating additional administrative staff coverage to attorneys when needed. Review administrative staff time records and coordinate administrative staff and attorney time-off/absences requests. Review, approve and process all vendor invoices and incoming checks for depositing. Assist the co-managing partners with yearly administrative staff evaluations and sit-down reviews. Assist the co-managing partners with implementing protocols and procedures as needed. Provide legal secretarial assistance to one managing partner and one associate (Experience includes drafting, editing and formatting pleadings; assist in various projects as needed.
 
Qualification and Experience:

Qualifications: High School Diploma required. 7 + years of relevant experience. Legal experience mandatory. Knowledgeable with court filings, including e-filings/e-service with state, federal and appellate courts. Knowledgeable of court deadlines and procedures and calendaring same). Proficiency in Word and Excel mandatory. Proficiency in NetDocs and Compulaw preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Attention to detail is a must. Exhibit and promote “team player” approach among administrative staff and attorneys. Employ a “problem solver” approach. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Must be organized and able to multi task. Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with both attorneys and administrative staff. Ability to work under pressure and balance multiple, competing priorities.
