Cutting-edge Technology Company. is seeking a self-motivated experimental Scientist Engineer with a Ph.D degree in the areas of laser/optical physics, physical chemistry, materials science to fill the position of thin film laser Process Engineer or Scientist.  This individual will be responsible primarily for thin film processing on semiconductor wafers using advanced laser and spectroscopic technologies from mid-infrared to ultra-violet wavelength range. The individual will be exposed to or involved in typical semiconductor processes such as thin film deposition, photolithography, and etch as well as various thin films characterization and metrology.
his position includes routine process development and characterization in a semiconductor clean room environment. The candidate must be familiar with and possess good knowledge about the basic principle and operation of lasers, spectrometers (IR/vis/UV), optical spectroscopy of thin films or gaseous molecules, and thin film physical and chemical changes under intense laser irradiation. As a member of the Engineering Team, the Thin Film Laser Process Engineer is expected to closely collaborate with Engineers in Company's Process Integration Team to develop novel semiconductor photonic technologies from early R&D stage to engineering development stage, and to production.

  • Good knowledge about laser fundamental principle/operation and its chemical/physical interactions with materials. Good at optical bench experiment involving lab optics and instruments.
  • Good understanding of chemical bonding structures, reactions and kinetics in semiconductor or dielectric thin films at elevated temperatures. Be able to carry out systematic experiments to quantify temperature induced chemical reactions and composition changes in thin films. Experiences in quantitative analysis via optical spectrometers and/or other instrumental methods
  • Proficient in computer programming (VB, C++, MatLab etc) for data analysis, data acquisition and experimental automation. Basic skills in lab electric/electronic tests and instrument setup/operation.
  • Ability to perform hands-on experiments, analyze and summarize experimental data into technical reports or presentations. Be able to interpret experimental data based on fundamental theories and principles of physics and chemistry
