Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government contracting, with a focus on the Department of Defense (DoD). This role will involve providing expert contract management support to ensure compliance with federal regulations and successful contract execution. The ideal candidate would be a recent retiree or professional nearing retirement looking for better work-life balance and opportunity to mentor and coach others. Flexible on-site and remote work will be negotiated.

Responsibilities:
• Contract development: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including prime contracts, subcontracts, and modifications, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations and contract terms.
• Contract administration: Manage contract performance, monitor compliance with contractual obligations, and resolve disputes or issues that may arise.
• Risk management: Identify and mitigate contract risks, develop risk management plans, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, and policies, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), and other relevant regulations.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit required contract reports and documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
• Certifications: Maintain relevant certifications, such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM).

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, law, or a related field.
• Minimum of ten years of experience in government contracting, with a focus on DoD contracts.
• Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of government contracting regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills (Preferred):
• Experience with contracting software or tools.
• Familiarity with specific DoD contracting programs or initiatives.
• Experience with proposal development and evaluation.
