A Top-rated Law Firm currently has an excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer in their Global Operations & Innovation Center (GOIC) in Wheeling, WV.  

Their GOIC in Wheeling, West Virginia, is home to more than 300 members. Established more than a decade ago, it was the first centralized administrative operation in a major law firm.

 Responsibilities:  The Systems Engineer will apply proven technical, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the reliability and uptime of law firm's systems.

  • Perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
  • Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, and other applications.
  • Maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, processes, and service records.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests for systems.
  • Monitor and test system performance
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, storage, applications and peripheral devices.
  • Manage physical and virtual servers and their associated operating systems, patches and software.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system builds.
  • Maintain server inventory.
  • Work with other Network and Systems Engineers to execute modifications to server environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Work as part of a team on the review of new server systems, applications, and hardware.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university and/or two plus years related experience and/or training.
  • Two plus years' experience in the areas of System Engineering such as System/Server/Storage Administration (servers, SANs, virtualization, AD, Exchange)
  • Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems and utilities is required
  • Knowledge of virtualization including VMWare is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Knowledge of current versions of Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online.
  • Knowledge of M365 and Microsoft Azure would be beneficial
  • Skills with Dell and Cisco servers and storage.
  • Skill managing enterprise SANs particularly EMC.
  • Skill with Web Servers (IIS) and FTP servers is helpful.
  • Some experience with UNIX/Linux is a plus.
  • General proficiency with Windows desktop OS and MS Office suite of products is required.
  • Knowledge of server monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical documentation. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate information to management and other Firm personnel.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization and/or specific direction exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to provide clear leadership and guidance to Network Operations staff and management with respect to implementing, managing, and supporting the systems for which you are responsible.
  • This position requires the ability to adapt to flexible work hours to meet the needs of the Firm.
